Robert Townsend
Robert’s in depth knowledge, dedication and determination to provide the highest level of service and deliver results has earned Robert a highly regarded reputation as one of the most enthusiastic and successful agents in the Eastbourne area.  Robert believes that integrity and professionalism are the keys to successful agency, and is constantly involved in the front office dealing with clients and sales, ensuring the firm’s high standards are always maintained.

Robert started his career in 1984 with Holmes & Leadbitter, a well respected independent agent in Eastbourne, and continued with this firm until it was taken over by a well known corporate firm. Robert managed the Eastbourne flagship office for many years until being promoted to Area Director in 2000, responsible for a number of offices in Eastbourne and the surrounding areas. In 2002 Robert joined Emslie & Tarrant as Managing Director. “I have been born and bred in Eastbourne and know the area extremely well. When James retired I relished the opportunity to become involved in such a well respected and long standing company.” Robert lives in Eastbourne with his partner Sandra.

Darren Jaques
With his vast knowledge, depth of experience and hands on approach, Darren is seen as the role model by other members of the team.

It was a week of work experience over a summer holiday in 1988 that inspired Darren to seek a career in Estate Agency. He joined a well known corporate firm in his home town of Seaford. After two years Darren was promoted to Senior Negotiator at the company’s Hailsham office, specialising in the valuing and sale of town and country properties. In 1984 Darren joined Robert in the Eastbourne flagship office and earned an excellent reputation as one of the company’s most successful negotiators.

Darren joined Emslie & Tarrant in 2003 and became instrumental in running the day to day activities of the business. He is committed to providing the highest levels of service to both sellers and buyers alike. 

Darren who supports Charlton Athletic FC is married to Clare and has two sons, Toby and Liam.

Neil Gamble
Neil was born in London and moved to Eastbourne as a child in 1989.  He began his career in 1998 as an office junior with a well known corporate firm.  After being promoted to Negotiator and later Senior Negotiator Neil was transferred to the Eastbourne town centre office where he worked alongside Robert Townsend and Darren Jaques.  In 2002 Neil was promoted to Property Sales Manager and gained extensive experience within the Eastbourne property market.

Neil was invited by Robert to join the team at Emslie & Tarrant and rejoined his former colleagues in the latter part of 2003. Neil prides himself on the continued success of the company and the consistent letters of thanks and recommendations made by many clients, as seen within our section of testimonials.

Although Neil loves all sport, his real passion is cricket and Neil is Captain of East Dean Cricket Club.

Jason Harper
As the newest member of the team Jason has started his career in estate agency as a negotiator at Emslie & Tarrant.

Prior to this Jason worked for many years in London at a IT/marketing firm, who’s primary business centred around establishing new direct marketing channels for large multi national cellular networks.

Fuelled by a love of sailing and other outdoor pursuits like power kiting, mountain biking and motorcycling, Jason decided to relocate to Eastbourne and pursue a new career. At Emslie & Tarrant he is hoping to apply the skills he has already acquired as well as bring a fresh approach to the team.
